Support Development Nepal

Project Ujhalo Bhabisya electronics

Development Nepal is only able to run projects such as Ujyalo Bhabisya through the generosity, time and financial support of individuals and organisations - for which we are very grateful. As Development Nepal is run solely from the time and effort of volunteers, all of the financial support we receive goes directly on implementing our projects in Nepal.

Since the project started in 2000 we have worked with approximately 2,500 individuals across 20 communities. The project has seen marked improvements in the levels of literacy (and other educational indicators), household income, and access to key resources and opportunities. Please click on Project Ujyalo Bhabisya to read more about our valuable work.

It is testament to the success of the project that more and more communities wish to work with us and reap the benefits that participation in Project Ujyalo Bhabisya provides. Over the next 5 years (2010-2014), we intend to work with 50 new communities in the Sunsari and neighbouring district, whilst continuing in the short term to work with the 10 existing Project Ujyalo Bhabisya communities from 2007-2009

If you would like to become a friend of Development Nepal there are a number of ways you can either financially or non-financially lend your support. Given the low cost of living in Nepal (where a cup of tea may be 30 times cheaper than in the UK!) a little support goes a remarkably long way.

As a Friend you will receive a copy of our quarterly news letter with news and updates of Development Nepal’s activities and events. Furthermore, as we are a relatively small organisation, our team of trustees are accessible to our Friends, should you require any more specific information on Development Nepal’s work. If you have any queries please contact Christopher Kelly at chris@developmentnepal.org or Nicholas Renshaw at nick@developmentnepal.org or leave a message on 020 7099 7445.

Single Donation

You can support Development Nepal by making a one-off donation. You can make an online donation to Development Nepal through the Charities Aid Foundation website by clicking on the "Donate Now" button below.

Donate through CAFOnline

Alternatively click here to download our giving form and send the completed document by post.

Standing Order

Regular donations allow Development Nepal and our partners plan their budgets more effectively, and a small donation on a regular basis soon adds up to a significant gift to the charity. As such, if you would like to set up a standing order from your bank account (UK banks only), your donation will go even further to support our work. You maintain control over the amount and duration of payments you wish to make. Click here to download a copy of our giving form.

Donate through Gift Aid (UK tax payers only)

If you pay tax in the UK, the Governments Gift Aid scheme allows DN to enhance your donation, whether it is a one off donation or payment by standing order. In order to qualify as a Gift Aid contribution you must pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax we reclaim on your donation (28p for every £1 you give). If you are applying to become a Friend of DN and you are able to make the payment through Gift Aid, please ensure that you tick the Gift Aid Declaration on the form and return it to us by post with your original signature. Click here for a PDF version of the Gift Aid form (PC users can right-click to save).
